Bennett Fracture

  • An intra-articular fracture-dislocation of the base of the first metacarpal .
  • The most common mechanism of fracture is axial loading of the first metacarpal (i.e., during a fist fight).
  • Dorsal subluxation is the most common dislocation.
The fracture has been labelled on the first set of images. 



 The next set of images were taken while the hand was in a cast.
