Fibrous dysplasia

Radiological appearances:

A)Radio graphs:

1-Hazy or ground glass appearance
or cystic type with reactive rim, no trabeculae with normal cortical thickness.

2-Intra medullary lesion with thinned and bulged cortex.
3-Angular deformity.

B)Bone scan:

1-Reveals intense tracer uptake.
2-Decrease in bone scan activity implies inactive disease.

C)CT: May evaluate extent of bone involvement.
